Search engine algorithms are designed to detect content that was written for the sole purpose of boosting search engine traffic. Even the intent of someone searching the web on a mobile device is different from someone using a computer. The content must not only be shorter and more concise but it also must have a different message to cater to the different consumer intent. It may seem counter-intuitive, but Google is tightening its organic results for 3rdparty websites and trying to respond to the good amount of searches by itself. Keywords should never be used to try to trick or mislead human beings or Google spiders.. This means using keywords that do not exactly describe the contents of your page, repeating a keyword over and over in a way that in not natural (known as “keyword stuffing”) or using any other black hat SEO tactics (like keywords in a white font on a white background) are all off limits.
Attaining a list of keywords is easier than knowing what to do with them
Ask other sites who link to your major competitors to link to you as well. You can find who these are through a search engine such as Google, by searching link: www.yourcompetitor.com. It is often good to exchange links with other firms within your category of trade, because these all also help improve your ranking within major search engines. Targeting highly sought-after keywords
can make it harder for you to rank higher in search, but this doesn’t mean that you can’t become an authority on a topic by using different phrases for the same concept. The bad news about SEO is that it’s not as simple as flicking a couple of switches. Nor is it a one-time deal; SEO has to be a consistent part of your ongoing marketing. There is also an overwhelming amount of information available online – how do you know where to begin? There is no such thing as a cookie-cutter SEO plan, and for this, all parties on the SEO bandwagon should rejoice.
Find a site that’s relevant to your audience
An authority website is a site that is trusted. It’s trusted by its users, trusted by industry experts, trusted by other websites and trusted by search engines. As our internet ecosystem
has evolved, we have shared increasing amounts of personal data with services we use every day, from social networks to search engines. They then use this data to tailor the content they provide us with to what they think will be most appealing, engaging or relevant. With the increase in powers of content, the journey for internet marketing people has taken a knifelike turn. Not so long ago it might be comparatively easy for a marketer to secure his business in top search engine results. You need to get all sorts of links - not just comments, or profiles, or blog posts. A typical site will get links from all over the place and with all different anchors. You need to follow that strategy too (especially true after the Penguin and Panda updates).
SEO is not about stuffing a paragraph full of links and keywords
Through links, engines can not only analyze the popularity websites and pages based on the number and popularity of pages linking to them, but also metrics like trust, spam, and authority. Machines are writing stories and that is often something Google is not a fan of. One thing’s for sure though, Google is getting smarter. It’s now much harder to take shortcuts or to pull the wool over its eyes and cheat your way to the top – you have to earn your place. Gaz Hall, from SEO Hull
, had the following to say: "Website crawl-ability and making a website searchable goes beyond making sure Google can “crawl” the website. Understanding how a website’s users (including Google) are navigating a website is key to building an information architecture. Building the information architecture in a way that mirrors their thought processes will help both user types discover information on a website."
Work out an engagement strategy that is win-win for everyone
A DoFollow link is a link which passes on “link juice” to the website it’s linking to, which is essentially a vote or point to the linking site. The alternative is a NoFollow link, which passes no link juice and does not help you rank. Keywords are at the
heart of SEO, and selecting the right ones can
make or break your SEO strategy. Compile a list of about ten keywords
associated with your product or services. Plug these keywords into the
Google Adwords Keyword Planner, and find variations that make sense
for your business. Review your blog content to make sure articles are more than 300 words and are highly valuable to your visitors Since search engines focus more on the initial words of the titles, make sure you add your keywords at the start of your title tag – this will help you rank better.
