There are a number of ways to get relative monthly search volume, but what remains the easiest is using Google keyword planner (the replacement for the now deprecated keyword tool). However, these elements are still subject to the algorithms of search engines and must avoid being too long or stuffed with keywords if you don't want to lose the rankings of your web pages. Search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo use complex, evolving algorithms to call forth relevant results for search queries. And with trillions of web pages online, there’s a lot of competition. That said, there are a number of fundamental things you can do to make each page of your website more appealing to search engines. Links back to your site from elsewhere online are an important way to improve your search ranking;

More importance is given to blogs

Meta tags are pieces of HTML code that can be added to the section of your web pages. Beyond the page title, the two most popular Meta tags are Meta Description tag and Meta Keyword There are some conflicting views about whether or not to use Meta tags and whether they actually help your search engine positioning. Regardless of whether or not it helps with your search engine positioning, you should use the Meta Description tag because this is what frequently appears below your website URL in the search engine results pages (SERPS). If you’ve written your content so that Google can understand it, you’re already doing a great job. Use sub-directories rather than sub-domains when possible. Sub-domains do not share link love from the main domain as it is treated as a different domain. Can your title tag be improved to be more user-friendly?

Ranking high in the search engines is tough.unless you concentrate on sitemaps

The total number of backlinks can often include many links from the same referring domain or multiple referring domains. It’s common for referring domains to link back to your content if it is relevant, authoritative or useful in some way to their own domain. Outbound, or external, links are links pointing outwards from your site to another website. They pass along some of your own site’s ranking power. Search engines decide rankings on what is called the results page. You will sometimes see me use the term SERP, which is the acronym for Search Engine Results Page. In a Google search, the search engine makes its decisions based on signals from websites and the person searching. User-generated content (UGC) sites and communities are two of my favourite places to find untapped keywords.

Test new marketing strategies frequently, and compare them to current metrics

Contrary to popular belief, linking out to relevant external websites does not directly impact your search rankings. I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that analyzing the link profiles of your competitors is one of the best ways to find backlink opportunities for your website. Website owners all want their content to be placed at the top of page one of search results. This is because very few website searches ever go beyond page one of results. According to Gaz Hall, a UK SEO Consultant : "Pick your permalink structure wisely. Don’t change your permalink structure for the sake of it. Incorrectly redirecting your old URLs to the new URLs might lead to problems and could get you dropped from the rankings."

SEO on-page best practice

If your site doesn't load properly on mobile platforms, then you're wasting your time with SEO. You need a site that's responsive. It needs to work properly on desktop and mobile, and it needs to load quickly. Find forums online that are related to your sites niche and get involved within that community. Reply to threads, answer peoples questions, offer advice, etc. This all helps to build up your reputation as someone who is an expert within that niche. When building your content, you’ll want to include localized keywords so that the search engines know you have offices and operate in certain locations. Another factor in determining the value of a link is the way the link is implemented and where it is placed. For example, the text used in the link itself (i.e., the actual text that a user clicks on to go to your web page) is also a strong signal to the search engines.
