Think of yourself as an asset portfolio manager, because that’s what you are. In the same way fund managers need to analyze company financial data and operational performance before making investment decisions, you need to analyze your SEO competitors to inform your investment decisions. The page title is one of the most important things that Google and other
search engines evaluate to determine what is on a web page. Put your keyword
or phrase in the title, and keep it short. If you want to grow your audience, it could be a great strategy to focus on a different language. Creating content in a foreign language can be quite a challenge though. Page content refers to all the information contained in a website. Page content can be displayed as text, links, images, audio, animation or videos among other things.
Make Sure Your Site Kicks Butt On Mobile
As visual content becomes more and more prominent, it cannot be left out of SEO. Luckily it’s not time-consuming to optimise your images. Use search engine friendly
permalinks. Try not to have too many ‘&’, ‘?’, ‘!’ etc characters in the URL. Sometimes it is unavoidable but try to keep it to a minimum. When launching a new website that replaces a previous version, use 301 Redirects to tell the search engines that your pages have moved. Doing so will retain your hard-earned Google Page Rank and your search engine positioning should stay more or less intact. If you do not use 301 Redirects when launching a new/replacement site, search engines will still have your old pages contained in their index, and both search engines and visitors seeking out your content will encounter broken pages when they try to visit your site. This will result in lots of 404 Page Not Found errors. When this happens, your search engine rankings will most likely drop. Search Engine Optimization should start with creating and uploading content. This can include a lot of things but the most basic piece of content that you will use is articles.
Boost Underperforming Content
The only way unethical SEO techniques are ever going to be eradicated is when Google themselves get clever enough to work out how to tweak their algorithm to ensure these tactics no longer work. Don’t get me wrong. Google have come a long way during the past few years in stamping out unethical SEO spam but they are far from ensuring none of it works. This fact isn’t new:
if your website loads slowly, a large portion of visitors will quickly leave. Backlinks are one of the most important factor of off page optimisation to rank your website on SERPs. There are many backlinks, and all are not important. Considering which backlinks are important and which links should be directed to your website, understanding no follow and do follow links is essential. Technical SEO is work improving the non-content parts of your website. These tend to be the elements behind the scenes that visitors don’t see (but often affect their experience of the website!)
How can you find out, whether your domain has been penalized by Google and why?
Search engine optimization affects only organic search results, not
paid or "sponsored" results such as Google AdWords. If the competition in your niche is high, you’ll have a hard time ranking on competitive head terms. If you have little competition, you’ll even be able to rank for head terms. It sounds so very easy! One of the most common misconceptions is that blogging on your own site is going to help your SEO. Gaz Hall, from SEO Hull
, had the following to say: "The goal of search engine optimization is to have the search engine spiders not only find your site and pages but also specifically rank the page relevance so that it appears at the top of the search engine results."
Domain to Domain Relevance
Figure out how you want to be known, and how you'd like to be found online. Include related keywords but make sure the writing isn't just about keywords. Then, write with a voice that's recognizable and consistent. In the past, Google
has stated that the country within which a website is
hosted is a very small factor in their international ranking algorithms. So try to
have servers set up in your target countries. For example, if your company is
based in the UK and you have a .fr extension of your site, have the .fr domain
extension site hosted on a server in France. SEO offers incredible opportunity and access (it's an inherently free marketing channel) to inbound traffic, but it can be hard to know where to start and what advice to follow. So you want your site to be among those most relevant for the keywords relevant to your business. Ideally you want to be towards the top of the first page of the search results as people do not often look further than that.
