If a person goes looking for a company or product by name, Google will steer them towards what they’re looking for. Successive Google algorithm updates have seen the nature of SEO change radically. Where once processes such as keyword stuffing – cramming words that are popular in Google searches into your website’s copy, whether they make sense or not – may have worked, now they can actually work against you. If you execute your keyword research properly, you’ll end up with a long list of search terms you want to be found for. Make sure to search for those terms in Google yourself. What results are there already? Who will be your online competitors for these search terms? What can you do to stand out from these results? If your page title is too long (currently 400 to 600 pixels), it will get cut off in Google. You don’t want potential visitors to be unable to read the full title in the SERPs.

are better to receive links from than others. These are domains that are “trusted” sources and have higher domain authority. Website owners all want their content to be placed at the top of page one of search results. This is because very few website searches ever go beyond page one of results. Keyword selection requires its due consideration. You do not want to select a common, albeit popular, keyword featured in various other contents as it dilutes your visibility. Conversely, you do not want to choose a keyword that is so vague that your content becomes almost non-existent for the users.

Be careful not to include links within content that lead directly to the desktop or mobile version of a page. Even if the user will be switched to the correct URL based on their device, Google sees these types of links as a bad user experience. Internal page linking is an important part of on page SEO. These can be interpreted as binding your website together. You can make sure you have chosen the right SEO phrase to win in two steps. First, think about what you would search for to find that content. We use search every day, but sometimes don’t pull on our own experience when writing for SEO. Even if the phrase sounds a little too detailed or random, remember that it came from a real human (you) — so it’s probably winnable. Second, test your phrases in the Keyword Planner of Google AdWords to see how competitive they are to win. Once you find the perfect phrase that straddles those two steps, you have a winner. Give your customers points toward free products. Be generous with the points, so it is easy for them to visualize cashing them in after a few orders. The points could be toward products or information, available only to those redeeming points, so customers feel special because they have access to those products. Another option is to throw in a freebie of some sort, with every order.
